NBA 2K16 for iOS and Android didn't have the best gameplay — at launch, it had no audio commentary, it ran slow on all but the most powerful mobile devices and many weren't able to run it at all In short, it was nowhere as god as its PC and console counterparts. The NBA 2K17, on the other hand, is a different kettle of fish. It offers a much better all-round performance: there is color commentary this time and it is light enough to run on many devices. But the question remains whether this is an upgrade that those accustomed to playing PC or console versions of 2K games can be interested in.
Like its predecessor, there are 4 main modes in the 2K17: Season Mode, Quick Game, My Career and Blacktop. The biggest change in NBA 2K17 is the incremental improvement to the MY Career mode. Now your player has many more things to do in between games. Players can now sign endorsement deals, trains and even make friends. It also offers many more equipment types for purchase to raise various player attributes. Eye-catching visuals Another significant improvement over last year's version are the graphics, thanks in no small part to the better looking textures and player models. Marquee NBA names like LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Steph Curry resemble their real-life counterparts, but the rookies - not so much. Sure, one would hope that future versions will have more players with realistic faces, but as it stands, NBA 2K17 is a visually stunning mobile game. Nifty controls The controls are also a little more complex thanks to the addition of new animations - most designed to be triggered by contact - that ensure the players react more realistically to almost every basketball situation imaginable. The on-court action is very fluid and reflect the actual pace of an NBA game with the intuitive dribbling system offering more ball control. This version gives you the option to use a third party controller or stick to on screen controls, although these can tire your thumbs real fast. What's more, you can either use this year's virtual-control scheme that makes defending easier while leaving you with less control over the team or switch to the dual analog approach used in the NBA 2K16. Performance improvements You needed lots of storage space to install the NBA2K16 provided the phone met the game's steep hardware requirements. The NBA2K17 is also as demanding (at least 3GB of storage), but it runs with minimal fuss on devices that struggled to run the '16. You can even install this year's versions on some android models that couldn't even install NBA 2k16. Of course, this doesn't mean that it will run on any device released within the last 5 years, the only sure way to know is to install the game and see how things go. Get the best NBA 2K17 Cheats now!
